Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular

The Phantom of the Opera is one of the most well known plays in modern parlance. Many people throughout the ages have been captivated by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ability to tell such a gripping and compelling romance. It is only to be expected that such a spectacular show would crop up in Las Vegas to entertain all that come to enjoy the fruits of Sin City. The Phantom of the Opera is the longest running musical in Broadway history – but, like most things when they come to Las Vegas, Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular has put its own spin on things.

This is an edited production of the original. The entire production runs at about 95 minutes, which is roughly 45 minutes shorter than the original play. It is performed at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, in a theater that was specifically built to recreate the look of the Opera Garnier in Paris. If you’re concerned about the fact that the recreation is much shorter, rest assured that none of the essential scenes or dialogue were cut – most of the parts that were eliminated are important to the back story of the Phantom, but not to the essential linchpins of the plot. If you come to see Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular you’ll be able to enjoy all of the most important parts of the original musical. While some will think that truncating any part of this classic show is disrespectful, the fact of the matter is that it is done in such a way that only the most hard core Phantom of the Opera fans will truly notice. This is a great way to enjoy the styling and incredible art of the original Phantom in a very easy-to-consume format that is perfect alongside the glitz and glamour of Vegas. Remember, this isn’t Broadway, it’s the Strip, and things are done a little differently in the depths of Sin City!

A shorter musical is ideal if you’re taking children to the show, but also for adults who want to enjoy a bit of a classic musical without devoting an entire evening to it. Anything is possible in Las Vegas! You can get tickets that start at 79 dollars and go up from there. If you’re looking to make a night of it, consider purchasing the dinner package, so you can enjoy a true night out on the town, Phantom-style.
